As the holidays rapidly approach, it's so easy to disconnect from yourself and engage autopilot to just make it through. Sometimes that's what we need to do. But one of the essential skills we can develop is the ability to slow down and connect with our own body for just a few minutes.
Your body has the answers you need and when you slow down and connect with your body, you can find your way through this season with your sanity intact. Or at least relatively so, depending upon your circumstances. But knowing when you need to run away, hide, or throw something ahead of time is a little more helpful than having it sprung on you during family dinner. This short exercise is a great reminder to slow down and check in with yourself and your holiday plans BEFORE you head into it.
