Click for some tips to help prevent Tantrums
This is the million-dollar question, isn’t it? How do we prevent these meltdowns?
The most important thing you can do is to recognize when your child is on yellow and when you’re on yellow. When you can recognize it and do a sensory activity (swinging, wheel barrow walking on hands, jumping on trampoline, running game around couch) or pull them in close to help them regulate, we may totally miss the meltdown (yours or theirs).
It’s important to know your child and what he needs on yellow. And to know yourself and what you need on yellow. Yellow is an amazing place to connect! If your child is on yellow, some of the deepest connection happens here.
